The Language of Cupons

So apparently, at many of the major stores everyone shops at, you can end up getting alot of stuff either very cheap,free, or even make money with overage savings. You should always sign up for the store's savings card and keep an eye out for these terms. I got this list of cuponing tips from MojoSavings.com. Enjoy!

Abbreviations & Definitions:

B1G1 or BOGO _______ – buy one get one _______(usually free or 50%off)

MIR - mail in rebate – mail in form along with required documents (receipt, upc code..) and receive rebate in mail

MFC – manufacturer coupon

store coupons – coupons valid only at specific store

RR – Walgreen’s offers these on special purchase each week. When you buy the advertised products(s) you earn register rewards (money towards your next purchase). These are printed out at the register and follow your receipt.

ECB – CVS offers these on special purchases each week. To earn these, you must have a CVS card. When you purchase product(s) you will earn ECB’s (extra care bucks), money, good towards your next purchase.

SS – SmartSource – coupon insert in newspaper

RP – Red Plum – coupon insert in newspaper

PG – Proctor and Gamble insert in newspaper

Stacking – using both a manufacturer’s coupon and a store coupon on the same product

Single Check Rebate – buy a promoted product and receive a check in the mail for the specified amount

The internets: a freegan paradise

I don't know how this started but it did. I happened upon an ad for a free medium coffee at Dunkin Donuts on Facebook and then 'liked' the Dunkin Donuts page. I saw a comment with a link on that page that told about the free iced coffee giveaway day and clicked on theat link wich took me to the FB page for Free Snagger- a site full of all things free or close to it along with alot of cupons for printing and such. That's what started it. Through that site I've learned about a ton of other jackpots of internet sites for freebees, etc. Another really good one is called Free Snatcher and while it's alot like Free Snagger, it has some different things to offer that the Free Snagger people don't know about yet. Both sites qill link to the source of their freebee and so I have tripped upon other good sites for web-freegans. MojoSavings and Pink Cupon Cafe are some other ones I happened across offering a ton of free stuff. It's definitely worth a look. It's kinda like getting to rummage through a free bin of brand new stuff... kinda fun! Try The Free Snagger site and the Free Snatcher site for starters and you'll be well on your way to a savyer freegan lifestyle!
